Frequently asked

How accurate are the measurements?

Velora samples GPS at a high rate and detects launch automatically. Accuracy depends on your phone's GPS fix — the in-app accuracy chip tells you when the signal is good enough for a clean run. For best results keep the phone with a clear sky view and wait for the "GPS locked" state before launching.

Where is my data stored?

Entirely on your device. Runs, vehicles, photos and settings never leave your phone unless you explicitly share or export them. There is no account and no cloud. See the privacy policy for details.

How do I back up or move my data to a new phone?

Settings → Back Up Data exports everything (vehicles, runs, settings) as a single JSON file. On the new device, Settings → Restore Data imports it and merges with whatever is already there. Individual runs can also be exported as GPX.

Is Velora really free?

Yes — completely. Every feature is unlocked, there are no ads, no subscriptions and no account.

Why does Velora need location permission?

GPS is the measuring instrument: speed, acceleration times, distance and the route map are all derived from it. Location is used only while the app is open and is processed on-device. It is never collected by us.

Where can I measure safely?

On closed courses and private roads only. Velora is designed so the driver never needs to touch the screen — timing starts and stops automatically, with optional voice announcements. Always comply with local laws and drive responsibly.
